How to Add, Copy, and Delete a Folder

 

Organize your content within your Knowledge Base effectively by creating, copying, deleting, and fine-tuning folders. Improve your knowledge base's structure for better navigation, making it more user-friendly.

 

Additionally, take control by renaming, hiding, and adjusting the visibility of your folders to keep your knowledge base efficient and well-organized.

 

Note: Folders with empty or unpublished content will not be visible to end-users.

How to Add a Folder

 

Step 1: On your dashboard, go to + Add New > Folder.

 

Click Add New and select Folder

 

Step 2: Click the âš™ icon and select Rename. Type the name of your folder and hit Enter or click outside the text input to save the folder name.

How to Copy a Folder

 

Step 1: Hover over the folder name and click on the gear icon. Select Copy Folder.

 

Alternatively, right-click on the folder name and click Copy Folder.

Step 2: Provide the folder name and select the help site where you want to copy the folder. Click Save.

How to Delete a Folder

 

Step 1: Hover over the folder name and click on the gear icon. Select Delete.

 

Alternatively, right-click on the folder name and click Delete.

A confirmation message will appear asking for your consent to delete the folder. Click Yes.

How to Rename a Folder

 

Step 1: Hover over the folder name and click on the gear icon—select Rename.

How to Enable/Disable Folder Content Page

 

You can enable or disable the folder content page. The folder content page ensures your folders have URLs similar to a help page.

 

The folder content page is always enabled by default. You can disable the same by right-clicking on the folder name and selecting Folder Content Page.

How to Expand/Collapse Menu

 

By default, folders in the TOC will remain collapsed after the page loads. If you want to keep the folder open by default after page loading, click Expand Menu.

If the folder is open and you want to keep it closed by default after loading, then right-click on the folder and select Collapse Menu.

 

How to Hide a Folder

 

You can easily hide a folder and all the items inside it. Only logged-in users can see the hidden folders.

 

Hover over the folder name, click the gear icon and select Mark Hidden to hide a folder.

 

Alternatively, you can right-click on a folder and then click Mark Hidden.

If you want to make the hidden folder visible, hover over the folder name, click the gear icon, and select the Mark Visible option.
